What is The Family Chabad all about?

Founded in 2025 by Rabbi Hershy and Chaya Weinstein, The Family Chabad (TFC) is exactly what it sounds like. A home for Jewish life, where every Jew is family. Our mission is to create a space where Judaism feels natural, joyful, and relevant. Whether it’s for a holiday, a Shabbat dinner, a deep philosophical conversation or a joyous moment, our community is here for you!

Is TFC the right place for me?

Absolutely. At The Family Chabad, every Jew, at any stage of life, is family.

Whether you are raising a brood of energetic kids, focusing on your career, or enjoying your empty-nester years, you have a seat at our table.

What kind of programs does TFC offer?

Our programming is designed to bring people together. Our calendar includes:

  • Youth Programming: Mommy & Me, The Family Shabbat, family fun days and family friendly holiday programs.

  • Social Events: Women’s events, Guys’ Nights, and family celebrations.

  • Learning: Adult education classes, one-on-one study sessions and Bar Mitzva lessons.

  • Holidays: Immersive Shabbat and holiday programming.

Do I need to be Orthodox to participate?

Come as you are. Our programs are geared to all Jews regardless of affiliation, knowledge or background. We focus on the joy and spirit of Judaism and community, not the labels.

How does membership work?

We don’t have membership dues. Really.

All TFC programs are locally funded by generous people who love what we do. As a financially independent organization, we don’t receive funds from, nor send funds to, Chabad Headquarters. We are built on local support.

Where are you located?

We are based in the heart of Rancho Bernardo, San Diego. Reach out to us directly for our address!

I’d love to get involved. What’s the next step?

We’d love to meet you. Give us a call or send a message, and let’s schedule a coffee date.
